Legal and Policy Reform

Queer Youth Group works to advance legal and policy reforms that uphold the rights and dignity of LGBTQI+ individuals, with a strong focus on trans and gender-diverse communities. Our advocacy aims for broader societal transformation by addressing the systemic legal and policy barriers, advocate for gender recognition legislation, and ensure that national policies reflect the lived realities of LGBTQI+ people across Nepal’s diverse provinces. We engage with lawmakers, institutions, and civil society to challenge harmful legislation, close legal gaps, and promote policies that affirm LGBTQI+ identities.

Through this work, Queer Youth Group strives to create an inclusive democracy in Nepal, one where queer voices are not only heard but are integral to building a just, equitable, and representative society.
